Yesterday, while out with my children, we saw a homeless man on the sidewalk. My kids have never been confronted with the sad reality of homelessness in real life, although we've discussed it many times. Still, I braced myself for some tough questions about the man sitting lonely in the street.
Instead, the only words that escaped their lips were "Mommy, that man looks so cold. Can we get him something warm to drink?". So we bought him a hot lunch, and delivered it with love.
I have never been more proud of my daughters.
This is the future generation, folks. We could all stand to learn from them.
